WHAT ARE THE CAUSES OF TINNITUS?
Although tinnitus is primarily associated with aging and an overall loss of hearing, there are many possible causes including nutritional and environmental factors.
If you have constant ringing in your ears, you should know that this could be a condition known as tinnitus. There are multitudes of tinnitus causes, but there are a few that are the most common reasons behind this severe sensory disorder. Whatever the actual tinnitus causes of your condition, one thing anyone can agree on, is that tinnitus can seem insufferable
At the root of tinnitus causes is a basic loss of hearing. In a healthy ear, there is a liquid that swirls around behind the eardrum. This would create quite some internal noise except that membranes exist to protect you from this sound. As you age, the membranes can break down resulting in hearing loss that allows the nerve sensors in your ear to start picking up the liquid swirling. This is perceived as ringing in your ears and is the most common cause of tinnitus.
Ironically, with the added distraction of the ringing in your ears, you lose more of your natural ability to hear as complications ensue. There can be other tinnitus causes include listening to music too loud, ruptured eardrums, and a number of other hearing loss disorders.
A number of devices exist on the market which are used in the treatment of tinnitus. These tinnitus devices may be run by batteries or be rechargeable through electrical outlets. While these are typically shaped like hearing aids, they are really a completely different device.
The most traditional tinnitus instrument picks up electronic frequencies that are sent to it and then magnified into your own ears thus masking the “ring” that tinnitus causes and allowing you to better hear sound. This is useful for TV viewing, hearing the phone, and hearing the radio. These devices do not address the separate tinnitus causes that may have brought on the condition, but rather work to provide you with some relief of the ringing and the overall satisfaction of being able to hear correctly.
Many people prefer to address tinnitus using natural remedies instead of mechanical devices. Nutritional and herbal treatments that are more focused on correcting the tinnitus causes that do exist. For example, those who believe their tinnitus is a result of a lack of blood flow to the ears and a lack of magnesium may choose instead to use ginko biloba and spinach.
